Peace everyone! This is scribe from New York. Currently fermenting 6 gallons of merlot juice I purchased from a market. This is my second go, my first try was with globe grapes from the supermarket, great taste but the nose had some funk to it. I'm looking forward to learning from more experienced vintners, blessings

Pax vobiscum, Scribe. Welcome to the forum. I believe Globe grapes are "table grapes" as opposed to "wine grapes" and that may be the reason that you were somewhat disappointed. Very few table grapes make good wine. I think you will be much happier with the Merlot.
