degassing

In this forum somewhere i saw a hand held vacuum pump for degassing. I was curious how well it worked and what it's called. I'm considering getting one if it works well.

Spidy, I have 1 and use it after using the drill mounted mix stir. The drill stir does a good job and the vacuum compliments it and together they really do a great job of degassing your wine. Harborfreight .com sells these cheaper than you can get them at a auto parts store and the metal 1 is more expensive bu a better product as you can rebuild them. I have the plastic handled 1 and have had no problems with it as Ive had it for a year.
