HEY:

Has anybody ever tried fortifying a blackberry wine with a brandy mixer to get a port from it?

OHHHHH Waldo............... I think your assistance is requested here.

I know Jobe as added "stuff" to his Blackberry Port to up the abv. You could use Everkleer so as not to add any other flavor and dilute your flavor to much.

Jobe made an excellent Blackberry Port but it was more than just a typical Blackberry wine by virtue of the additional items used during primary fermentation that you do not use in a "plain jane" Blackberry wine that provides a different character and body. It is my opinion that if you just fortify a Blackberry wine you will have a very hot wine that will lose the nose and taste of Blackberries. You might try doing a small sample, see how it tastes to you before you do a whole batch and possibly ruin it
