Yeast flavor

Last year's wine has a yeast flavor. Is that from not racking it enough?

I do not expect yeast notes on year old wine.
i expect this flavor in the primary while yeast is actively growing. At racking off the primary I expect enough carbonic/ bitter and acid flavor so that yeast notes aren’t obvious. I haven’t tested it (rack vs no rack) but I expect sulphur and stale notes if it is sitting on lees. I try to rack three or four times max.
