WE vs. RSJ Ports

I am trying to decide if I should make my first port, from a kit.

So I'd like to hear feedback on the Winexpert vs. the RJS Cru Select.
Kit versus making your own from fresh fruit (cherry, raspberry, etc)?

I think I should go to a LHBS (Maltose Express) to sample/taste their Cru Select Cherry Chocolate and White Chocolate (they only carry RJS)
