Not doing Petite Syrah this year, but check out these beauties next to the Mourvèdre that I am doing. Loomis CA (Sierra Foothills AVA)

A well formed, purple, plumpy cluster of grapes is truly a work of art! If I stare at it long enough, my eyes water with starsan.....

These clusters were unceremoniously cut off and thrown in a bin. Those specific clusters went to a commercial winemaker who is pursuing a gold medal at the SF Chronicle with this vintage of Petite Syrah. He achieved a Silver with these same grapes last year.
