Hello, I have always been a wine enthusiast and pictured myself working at a winery when I retire in 10 years. I never imagined being capable of making my own wine, but my husband surprised me for Christmas and got me an awesome master vintner wine kit. So not even a week later, I have my first wine fermenting in my new wine closet. So thankful to have this forum to guide me through the process.

Keep following this forum and you will be making great wine before you know it. I owe a lot to individuals on this forum for the success of what I've been able to make so far. Welcome to WMT!

BTW, I see you are from NE PA. There was a first annual meeting for winemakers on this forum last summer at the Split Rock Wine Festival, would be great if you and your family could join us for the second annual meetup! (https://www.splitrockresort.com/things-to-do/events/wine-festival/). I'm pretty sure they are attempting to meet a Split Rock again, just keep watching this thread: https://www.winemakingtalk.com/threads/2nd-annual-m-a-n-e-event.66003/

Wine making is like poker, easy to learn, hard to master. What is nice is that it is very satisfying to be able to make a consumable beverage, then the pursuit begins to make it better!

I have been making small batch fruit wines for a couple of years but until I found this forum it has been hit or miss with no idea why. Thanks for teaching me bunches!

Thanks, I will watch for it. By then, I hope to have a few batches under my belt.

Go to page 11 of the link for pics of the first meet up. There were only 6 winemakers and their spouses but we had a really great time. If you have a family there is something for everyone at Split Rock. I'll be making the reservations soon and will start with 10 rooms. You have to reserve at least 2 nights during this event and we do get a group rate. Hope you can join us and have fun with your present.
