I now have been given 4 6 gallon imperial carboys. They are approx 7+
gallons but there is a number 8 on the bottom. What can I do with
these?

I have 6 5gallon carboys too and 5 of them are just a'gin!!! I
would hate to dilute the kits with water so I guess I could top off
with commercial but maybe then the balance would be off.
hummmmmmmmmm!!!!! help???

Make fruit wines from scratch in them and you could make as much as you want, or, by lot of grapes!

I have one and i use it for the first transfer from the primary. Usually i am not using a kit and my primary has way over 5 gallons. During the fermentation under air lock i dont worry about the extra space because the gas displaces the air. after that i rack off the lees and treat the wine etc into a 6 gallon carboy

Or you send them over to me - and I fill them up with wine this fall from grapes. I would store them for you for free(at least until I bottled my wine I had stored in them)

Preferably using your legs with your midsection tightened up for proper spinal support.
