RJ Spagnols Winery Series Syrah

Started this kit Tuesday. This is my first Winery Series, I've made other grape pack kits in the past. To me the must had a bit of a cooked smell. More so than any of the others.Not bad necessarily and maybe typical of the syrah grape (this is my first) I was wondering if anyone had made this kit before and what their impression were.

This is the wine that all my friends rave about. I think you are just smelling typical Syrah.

Thanks guys, she's buzzing away now. Had to remove the brew belt this morning, the temp was pushing 80 degrees. Smells great . I added all the oak powder the kit came with, which was a bunch. Were you guys satisfied with the level of oak provided or did you add more and/or swap the included for something else?
