Does anyone have any plans or blueprints or even ideas for an inexpensive wine rack for bottle storage?

From the not-so-Highborne.

I've seen info on using pallets. Just cut them to length and stack them up and nail them together. Sand and finish if you wish. Have considered that myself

If you go on the Skeeter Pee web site he gives very detailed instructions for making the wine racks out of pallets. My husband has done this and it works great!

Another option is to use 'goat panel' fencing. Two pieces, along with some wood to frame it, and you've got yourself a rack.

Here are a few threads that may interest you if you consider the goat panel idea:

My local Tractor supply didn't have goat panel, but they did carry cattle panel. It was $20 for the 16 ft panel. I've used that to create 2 racks already and still have a 50inch x 48 inch piece left to make another.

Since I have limited space available I retrofitted the first one under our kitchen counter. The second one is retrofitted into a stand alone "bar top" type thing we use as our bedroom tv stand. What lumber I used was free scraps so all I had to purchase was screws, plumber's strap and some elbow brackets. Total cost for both racks was about $45 or less.

Nice pics ! and thanks for all the links - very helpful !!

No probs Steve, I read, read, read and re-read those until I decided to go this direction. I'm definitely the type to heavily research anything before I jump in. It's a blessing and a curse.

Oh yeah, when we move the under-cabinet one can be removed and fitted back under any standard kitchen cabinet or made into a stand-alone.

I totally understand the blessing and a curse aspect of it all !!

My wife has finally accepted my tunnel vision - LOL
I will think something out totally first and all the pro's and cons prior to moving forward with any project.

I like you - will over research things - but I think that it is a good thing overall !

Thanks again !
