Greetings!! So I'm going to jump in rather than stalking.
Intro- from Village of Wellington OH.

Hubbie & I played around for the past year at this new hobby....
we've made 5 or 6 kits including dessert wine kit, some projects made from juice and an Ohio Maple syrup and my problem child a Black Cherry Vintner's Best. That I am not sure what I'll do with. Currently in the road without my wine Dinary so I'll start another thread on that.

Q # looking to fortify one of my projects or black Cherry. Suggestions for smooth Brandy/liquor with all the aromas and that won't over power taste of my wine.

Welcome to the hobby! I'm in Maryland now, but from Ohio (Columbus and Circleville, later Cincinnati).

I fortify with brandy if it is a heavier port, like coffee port. For fruit wine that's more delicate, I'd use everclear.

My favorite homebrew store is in Ravenna, OH, and they ship and have great sales. Be sure to get on their email list. They are the only ones who have Finer Wine Kits, which are well-designed and come with great instructions as well as great customer support; those are currently on sale.
