Racking Hose

I am trying to figure out what auto siphon to order. The choices are 3/8 or ½ inch.


When I orderd my wine kit it only stated that on hose was coming with it. Is this the ID of the hose or the OD of the hose?

It almost always goes by ID. I personally would go with the 3/8" auto siphon as you can use it in gallon jugs also, the 1/2" is a little faster for racking but wont fit I gallon jugs.

Weuse both.


For the fastest racking the 1/2" really does the trick on the 6-gallon carboys.


We find the 3/8" auto siphon with a bottling wand just perfect when it's time to put the wine into the bottles.


Either one will do the job.
