I just purchased this kit, opened up and see they supply oak "dust" for lack of a better work, has anyone used this or substituted with oak cubes or chips?

Any suggestions?

Thanks for you views.

The "dust" will be absorbed faster than cubes. That is why they add that. The say to rush the oakiness leading to faster bottle.
I say you can't rush wine making. I would bulk age this one.

The dust does an OK job but I do like the cubes or staves or even spirals better. If you like a lot of oak you can use the dust and then add more oak whil bulk aging, thats what I do as I like lots of oak in my big reds.
