head space when ageing

do i need to worry about the head space when aging mead?

Keep the mead topped up the same way as you would the wine. Keep it to an inch or two from the bung in the neck.

Its not as detrimental as it is with regular wine as honey is much more self preservent then plain wine and that is why honey never really goes bad but I would try to get it up there with marbles or similiar wine flavor.
