Follow up to my SG post. Started a new thread so the new question didn't get lost in the first thread ... added 1 crushed Campden tab and 1/2 tsp Sorbate to each gal of strawberry. Campden tab made the wine cloudy. No sign of clearing after 12 hours .... now what????

Patience, you must have had sediment in the wine that got stirred back up, give it a week or two and you should see some clearing

We use campden tabs at bottling too and it has never reclouded the wine. So how old is this wine? If it was from this year, that's probably the reason. Even tho wine looks clear----when it's young, it really isn't as clear as it would be after 9 months to 1 year. Strawberry needs about one year to firm up flavor and to go totally clear. Wines contain many micro-sediments that you can't readily see.

Turock ... started in May so its only 3 months old.

Julie ... patience?!!? The slogan on our labels is "Aging is overated!!!" :)

Well, and there is the problem. WAY too early to sorbate. Set the wine aside and let it mature and clear.

Patience young Jedi... Aging is only over-rated till the wine rack is full... then it's not such a big deal... Promise. In the meantime, make some Skeeter Pee!
