Any suggestions on a way to add a filter element to my syphon hose.

Simple answer, yes. you can buy a whole house filter at the Big Box stores, get some plastic 1/2 barb fittings for your siphon hose, and buy a 5 micron filter element, and a 1 micron filter element. Connect a vacuum pump to the receiving carboy, and pull the wine to the carboy.
It will not gravity flow, and the wine needs to be clear before you try to filter.
There are plans for this somewhere on this forum.
The easy option is to buy an "All-in-one-pump", that's advertised by one of the forum members.
