Hello,

I am making a blackcurrant dessert wine. Tasted some of it yesterday, and it is delicious! The wine has been racked 3 times and is now in two 1 gallon demijohns. The wine has been fermenting for 2 months now. The sugar content is/was high at 6.5 pounds.

The demijohns are fitted with airlocks. Fermentation is very, very slow now. Should I just leave the wine to ferment out? I thought fermentation would end a lot quicker, but it has not. Was just wondering if I need to end the fermentation now.

Have you checked the sg? It might be just gas.

Check the sg, record it and check it again in a week or 2, if it is unchanged then wine is finished fermentation. Just needs degassing.

I have been making blueberry and it must be going thru malo - because it is still bubbling after 2 months -
