Color of Accuvin Free So2 test?

This is in reference to my previous post involving a possible over sulfited wine. I purchased a Accuvin test kit and now need to know how to read the color.Hold it right against the chart to compare? Hold it up to a window,white wall at ten feet?I can get a different color depending on where I read it.Against the paper chart I am right on ,no problems.Holding it away from chart and I get lighter colors.

Hold it up to the paper strip to read the color. Differences in ligh sources give different reaings, that's why it is designed to read up against the test strip chart colors. Slide the tube along the colors until you get the closest match. I think you will be very close to the desired range. Good luck.

So holding it against the paper the chart is. I get 40ppm at the high range and 8 ppm at low range. So I guess I am safe. Thanks Appleman!
