Anyone knows where to buy grapes in Calgary? Also, for a 23 liter carboy of wine, how much grapes should I buy?

Thanks

Ejiang

Not sure where to buy grapes in Calgary, but for 23 liters (about 6 US gallons) you would need to by three (3) 36 lb lugs. It will be more than you need, probably, but two would not be enough. If you can buy by the pound, you would need 85-90 pounds.

Despite my previous assertion that you can't grow grapes in AB, I have discovered that Valiant grapes are popular in our growing zone, along with Frontenac. Chancellor grapes apparently grow really well in BC.
There is also a Vineyards Wine Guild, which I found the link for through www.thevineyard.ca (based in Calgary). They may have some ideas or suggestions.

ETA: I keep writing 'vinyard'. Link corrected now!

The guys at The Home Vintner on 14th St north might be able to help you.

Thanks to all. Everyone is so warm hearted. I feel I come to the right place.
