Anyone fly fish or have rod preferences

I have several entry level rods (Diamond Backs and a Powell) that just gather dust now. So I wouldn't collect too many in your arsenal as now I'd rather have not made the purchase. As basically I have double bought my fly rods. I have one Sage SP rod that I love, was my first high end rod since...

Wine bottles - not standard size

They look like a crown finish. Beer bottle cap. If indeed they are a crown top do not use a cork as the bottle is not designed for it. Buy a beer bottle capper and some caps. Measure the top and compare to a beer bottle.

    Niagara Falls

If you can visit both sides I’d highly recommend it, the Canada side is very commercial where the US side is a park like setting. I don’t think one side is better, just depends on what you want to do. Both sides have casino’s and boat rides that take you up and close to the falls, the boat...

    REVIEW: *allinonewinepump*

Not so much a review of the pump but Steve. I had a low vacuum issue and contacted Steve, he gave me a call and he suggested I look at the vacuum release valve. Well the valve was fine, but the threaded barbs had come loose.... Put some Teflon tape on the threads reinstalled and all is good...

When is it ok to have a bug in your carboy?

I really don't think it's a bug, if it was, at the point where it did get imbedded the glass would still be molten and would have burned up the bug. What you got is possibly what they call a stone and one that big would be considered a reject. On the second photo I think I see a few fractures...

Check Craig's List, I always see a person from Lockport selling them. And/or put a wanted post there. Carboys come up from time to time.

    Cold Stabalization

Their web site says they still have some might be pre-fermented by now. :) I have had good success with blending Rougeon and Catawaba. I am amazed at times the good pictures an iPhone can take.

    Cold Stabalization

I have not racked it yet but my Dechaunac from Walkers has dropped a diamond mine. Fine lees is the lower layer the rest are crystals. Now my Rougeon has dropped very little to none, just fine lees on the bottom.

    Whats ya get for Christmas????

I saw them in one of your posts and figured I'd put them on my list. Santa brought me 4 1000ml and 2 500ml. Should come in handy for Chilean juice this spring!

    20 gallon fermenter problem

It's located on the bottom, but also may be on the rim. The 32 gallon I just purchased it was only on the bottom, my 20 has it located in both places.

How long can you leave wine sitting on sparkalloid?

    Cleaning 6 gallon carboy?

The issue with hot water and carboys is thermo expansion associated with the temperature change. In the glass industry it’s called thermo shock. For a typical wine bottle and most glass containers it’s recommended the temperature delta should not exceed 70 deg F. For carboys it’s a crap shoot...

    20 gallon fermenter problem

Put it over a really bright light in a dark room and you should be able to see the crack. Maybe use aquarium sealant? Considering the $ you will pay for any patching material a new Brute at HD is only about $20.
