Yeast QTY per case of grapes

Hi Guys,

What is your yeast quantity per case of grapes? My local wine shop says that 1 packet is good for 2 cases. In other words, if I am crushing 30 cases, it would require 15 packets of yeast.

Never heard of anyone trying to measure amount of yeast needed by "cases of grapes". Yeast are measured by gallons of must. Usually 1G of yeast per gallon of must.

Sounds about right… 5 grams in a packet and 2 cases normally yields about 5 gallons.

Depends on where you buy your yeast from. Where I purchase from yeast comes in 8gm packets.
