I bought the Vineco Nero D’Avola 2017 Passport kit over a year ago. After a perfect fermentation, it went into a lengthy bulk aging like all my wines do.
Today was bottling day. I pulled 2 ounces and tasted it. WTF?!? It's not Nero D’Avola, it's a Cabernet Sauvignon! I mean seriously, I've been making wines for AGES. Don't get me wrong, it's not flawed in some other way... it's an absolutely perfect example of a Cabernet Sauvignon. The thing is, neither my wife or I like Cabernet Sauvignon. I've made several Nero D’Avola both from Mosti and RJS, all of which tasted NOTHING like this kit.
Nice going Vineco, you lost a customer. Period.
