TUFF CORK REMOVAL?

I had a couple bottles this past weekend from my cellar that the corks were a BEAR to get out! These were bottles that were sitting since july 2006.. Just seemed extremly hard to get out.. #9 corks are what I use on all of the wines. Anyone have this problem?

I've had the occasional bottle where there seemed to be more friction between the cork and the glass. I never really thought about it, though - just yanked the cork out.
