May be a silly question, but I gotta ask.
I'm only on my third batch of wine (peach). I've learned that I must keep any extra from the primary for topping off.
Problem is that extra small bottle starts to develope a funky taste after a few weeks. Could it be fermenting faster? Or from sitting on the lees?
Wonder if it would best be kept in the fridge.
Thanks.

yes, some wines need to be racked regularly off the lees, especially heavy lees.
Keep it in the frig. If it develops an off taste or smell, I would throw it out.

Many thanks for good advice.
I'll toss the bad.
In future I'll keep the top up bottle in the fridge.
