It's sunny and relatively warm here again today. You guys all keep it south of here, ya hear? I'm just afraid that all that stuff will start hit us soon here as the jet stream retreats to the north soon. Maybe by then it will all be out of Mother Nature's system.

The farmers almanac doesn't sound good for February snow amounts.

Hang in there Scott hopefully the snow shouldn'thang aroundtoo long?

I am in central Texas, and have been here for 22 years. Today, is the first time that I have gone into work late because of snow and ice on the roads, John.

I guess I was right on the line. Baton Rouge got a little accumulation, I live about 15 miles southeast, got no accumulation. It did snow very hard for about an hour with some big ol flakes but the ground was too wet. We went to Thibodaux last night, about another 35 miles south. It felt 25 degrees warmer there. Even though I miss winter and want to get back north to the consistent snow, I want it to get back to warm here like it is supposed to be. It is Mardi Gras here and the viewing is greatly reduced when so cold.

There is significant shrinkage going on here..............

12" of snow!
My Aunt lives in Dallas, bet it won't hang around there long

We have had about 45" in the past week with between 2 and 8" more expected by Tuesday night. And its so cold here that none of it is going away!

Piles so high that the snow blower won't through the snow up anymore

Our bad time of the winter, as far as snow potential, is from now till mid March.... thank god I have plenty to drink

Feels like lake effect snow, but very heavy wet snow Runningwolf should know all about that.

I just cleaned about three inches out of my driveway. Expecting just the normal couple inches a day for the next week. There are parts of my driveway though that the snow blower will no longer throw the snow over because the piles are so high.

Up here south of Montreal, most fields are showing losts of bare spots and even here in the trees there is only a few inches of snow. Our snowy season is approaching and I'm hoping it stays mild and dry! We had a few flurries today, expecting more all week with mid to upper 30s.

We got another beautiful snow yesterday..beautiful in that it did not stick this time

Here is the 2" snow in my backyard. When I was growing up in Buffalo this would be considered 'a good start'. Here in Atlanta it caused a run on the grocery with NO eggs, butter, bread or milk left on the shelves. Buses canceled for 36-48 hrs.

The pool water is NOT green. Just looks that way in the picture.

The structure in the middle is a Gazebo w/ a 4 person swing inside it.... not in use at current time!

There was some compacting between the time the photo was taken and the snow(s) we received, but suffice it to say, we have received our share this winter and .... look outside..... it is snowing again, yes we are to receive another 1" to 3" tonight and possibly more on Saturday

I do actually love this stuff we haven't seen snow like this since I was a kid.

Here is a similar angle in better conditions!

Now to sit down with a 2009 blueberry wine and see how it is while taking in a Hoops game on the tube....

All that snow makes me glad I live in sunny Colorado Springs.

Actually my wife wanted that so we didn't have quit so many folks in and out of the house.

We purposely built the pool away from the house so we wouldn't have the hassles of running in and out with everything and the phone constantly messin with our relaxation time.
So the pool is set back in our woods about 150 yards from the house, and the pool house has almost everything you would want in it. For those that are tired of the snow I'll try and post some better pics of the pool area.
I must say we achieved our goal, it is quit relaxing on those hot humid summer days in southeastern Pa. I have about 1 1/2 acres around and between the house and pool and there are over 130 different flowering plants and trees that grace the lawn. Our closest neighbor is 300 yrds from us through the woods. Nothin like it I'm sure

.
Overall we're on 11 acres.

And when you sit down at the end of the day with your good friends and a few bottles of your best wine..... aaahhh it is soooo nice, sitting around the open fire pit, late night swim to cool off and ....... etc....
