Can you make Skeeter Pee using a yeast pack rather than slurry from a previous wine. I don't have any slurry from wine I have made and was wondering if I could use a wine yeast and would it ferment just as easy as if I used a slurry. I made one batch last year using slurry from elderberry and it turned out good. Will it ferment as easy as using a slurry and if so which yeast do you recommend.
Thanks

The first five times I made SP I used slurry. I then tried it with EC-18 (or EC-16) and never went back.

X2 the on the 1118. I've done two batches. No problems here. It did seem to ferment slower than my other batches of wine though

I have done mine by starting with dry yeast and only the sugar/water mixture. Then at peak fermentation dumped in the lemon. No issues thus far!

i did mine by the recipe and it was great has gotten better now that its aged a couple months
