screw top gallons

just wondering, has anyone bottled into these? my family has saved quite a few of these and I'm wondering if I can age wine in these things?

I was wondering the same thing. I have a number of the Carlo Rossi jugs with screw tops, and i wondered if I could sanitize the caps and age in that.

Yes, you can! I use them for my skeeter pee. Don't reuse the caps though, buy some 38mm Poly Screw Caps.

Many years ago when we put most or all of our wine into gallon jugs, we used the screw top (probably plastic back then) along with a cork, sort of "belt and suspender."
