Good functional setup! Have you considered a support under your main 2x4 in the middle - there's a lot of weight in those carboys and would hate to see it collapse!

I have a 2 x 4 anchored every 16" OC right under the carboys. But yes a have considered the additional support. Thanks for reminding me as.

As a motorcyclist, I've always heard that "it's not whether you crash, but when" (and I've totalled two bikes). Probably same concept would apply to us aswinemakers: it's not whether you've had a major spill, but when (and I've had a couple!)

I've never had a spill. When I dropped a full 5 gallon carboy on the concrete, I called it a crash. Oh wait, I did follow that with a spill. The shop vac container broke loose while carrying it out. That made a spill. A very nasty spill. That should be my quota for a few years.
