I have a question for you southern folks! The family and I are planning a trip back to Kentucky this August. When do the Muscadines get ready to harvest? Is there someone in Kentucky or Tennessee that has access to get some of them?

Jeff

I don't think they survive that far north. But I'd say they are ready to harvest in late August early September.

my buddy just planted more - they do live here. I will forward to him. He is in Poland for a couple weeks, but will get back to you.

Jeff, muscadines dont keep or travel well when compaired to other grapes.
so bone up on how to keep and haul them. also consider obtaining them in Arkansas on your return home. probaly will need to ice them down in a big cooler ( i dont know for sure )

I was thinking, (that in it's self could be dangerous)if I could get them frozen, I will put them in a large ice chest for the trip home. They should be about ready for the fermentor by the time we get back here.
