Kit shelf life question

How long is the average shelf of a red wine kit. I recently bought a WE kit that was (acording to its label) 17 months old. Is that normal and ok or is it old?

For me, 17 months old is NOT normal, but it is probably OK. I hope you got a pretty good discount. I do not like to make any kits older than 12 months.

Check the date on the yeast package, it should be OK, but be sure.

BTW, which WE red?
