I live in the mountain of North Catolina at 3400 feet. We are in zone 6 and I have a small home vineyard of Leon Millot and 10% Baco noirs plus a few table grapes.
This area receives approximately 50 inches of rain per year and we are plagued with late frosts.
My biggest grape problems are with voles and birds.

I make mead, melomels, wine, beer, garden, hunt, fish, ....

Welcome. Look forward to hearing about your wines. Not many of us are fortunate enough to have our own vineyards. I help a guy out here with Muscadine and hope to start some of my own this winter.

having ones own grapes

There is no escape if you grow your own grapes--can't blame the viticulturist or enologist-- you did it all
