Perhaps a little off topic, but as you get more carboys you run greater risk of breaking one..

I enclose all of my carboys in custom crates. They are fantastic in that I can stack them in a single column when empty. They also work great in protecting the glass (I have not lost a carboy in over 20 years). Also, they provide plenty of easy handholds for picking them up!!

I have similar crates and need to make some more....they are well worth the time to make. I assume, to stack flat, you need to lay them over on their sides?
