I have a case of the 187 bottles and a pack of crown caps. I have never used my capper gizmo before. I plan to make some wine coolers ("instant wine" in the purple recipe book,) and attempt a cold duck recipe to be bottled in the little bottles. What do I need to do to get the crown caps correctly sanitized and seal them properly? (I am used to home canning of fruit where the seals have to be heated, and wine corks which insert better if damp and k-meta'd.) Thanks for your help. Also, how are the lids and gaskets on the wire and ceramic topped beer bottles supposed to be handled so they are sanitized and seal right?

I have always thrown my crown caps in a solution of K-Meta before capping, same with the lids and gaskets on the Grolsch style bottles, just dip them in it when sanitizing the bottles.

Just like the others. What ever the bottles are sanitized with, I use for the caps.
