Do I really need to filter my kit wine before bottling? If so what is a cheap way to go about this? I am bottling the blackberry merlot probably next weekend.

You absolutely dont need to filter any wine. I have a gravity filter which costs bout $40 and typically only use it only on whites and light fruits.

I did the Blackberry Merlot as my very second kit. I did not filter it, but racked it an extra time when it said to bottle. I then waited another week before bottling and it was extremely clear. I personally see no need to filter this kit.

BTW, I haven't heard anything more from George about the wine club, but I'm still working on it.

If you want to PM me with your e-mail address and/or phone number I'll contact you when I find out more.
