Just curious about corn syrup does it taste like corn is it a simple sugar. What do you use it for. Any use in wine making or is it best to stay away from. Just curious not using it but curious
 
Thanks Dan so you can use it to raise brix but not to sweeten then as long as you ferment to dry it will work as a simple sugar I think I understand. Thank you for the response it would probably work for welches wine :)
 
Corn syrup is made from corn starch and contains maltose which should break down to individual glucose molecules and ferment fine. It could contain higher amounts of fructose which also ferments well - a little bit slower than glucose. It is possible some higher oligosaccharides are present that may take a little longer to break down into individual sugar molecules. It does not taste like corn.
