I purchased the on special "Carboy Cap Universal" that was in last months Newsletter.I noticed today when in the fourth stage on the wine kit "racking and clarification" it seemed to have quite a bit of gas in the transferring. So, I decided to experiment with the new toy! WOW! It was the coolest thing I've seen. Those little bubbles came up from out of nowhere! This is a really neat little toy!Tried to take a picture of it, but didn'tdo it Justis.Edited by: jsmahoney

What were you using to degas that the universal cap helped you out with?

I have always just stirred and stirred and stirred................... and left it in the decanter before drinking. After reading last months article on degassing, I followed their instructions. Carboy Cap Universal, Vaccume Wine Saver, and the Vacuum Stopper. I think it did just great! Well, it did what the newletter said it would do!

Ah, the The wine saver, good for you. I think that these vacuums really
help as you see the difference when its gas(small bubbles and alot of
them) or when its done(big bubbles and only when pumped up alot).
