    What are you doing today?

Today I bottled a spiced pumpkin ale and then brewed up an orange hefeweizen. Made a batch of meatballs and sauce and then sat down with a glass of CC GSM ( 08 LE ). Now I'm catching up with all of you guys.

Cellar Craft California Reserve Pinot Noir

I made this last April and its still bulk aging. I was not going to add more oak because I like the typical style of light oaking of Pinots. Sampling time is coming soon.

Was Wine making On Your Agenda Today

I didn't make any wine today, but did start a new beer. A clone of fat tire. The wort is cooling on the back porch right now, its 8 degrees, so it should cool rather quick!

    old beer kit

Thanks for holding my hand everyone. The stout turned out great. Its carbonating in its bottles right now, and we will open the first one on Xmas eve. This is just as much fun as making wine, only I can do it more often. Oh, what a hobby!

    old beer kit

Ok, kit is a go. Waiting to cool to temp to pitch the yeast. I did the boil on the stove, so the house smells like a brewery. The smell will take some getting used to, but its worth it if my hubby really likes the end product. The process was so easy, I'm ready for another!

Cellar Craft CC Showcase Yakima Valley Merlot (with grape pack)

I haven't yet been disappointed by a CC grapepack kit. I keep trying them, and they are all great. I do need to try the RMC again to see how its aging.

    White Chocolate Port

I made this one last year. I let it sit for a couple months after stabilizing. It was amazing what kept settling out, even though it looked clear.

What Types of Wine do you make?

We like high end reds, so I tend to make strictly 'grape-pack' kits. They suit our tastes really well. But for the whites, I've gone with the lower end kits, and that's worked out well too. I've also made a few meads.

    old beer kit

Thanks. I haven't opened the grain for the sniff test, so I'm not sure about that yet. I will probably go get fresh stuff. I did get fresh hops and a liquid yeast, Wyeast for Irish stout and its all resting comfortably in the fridge until next week.
