Since most recipes are for one gallon, I assume you would triple all ingredients to make a 3 gallon batch.

Is this also true for the amount of yeast? Since the yeast will replicate itself, do you need three packages of yeast or will just one work?
 
I think I read somewhere one pack of yeast is good for up to 6 gal?

Bet I know what the rest of your thoughts are about this. Maybe split the yeast pkg. in half and make two batches out of it. Keep the other half in the fridge and use it in a timely manner. Seems like it takes off with the extra yeast a lot better, if y ou split the batches too small they either don't start or start really slow. Just a bit of experience talking, and yeast is pretty cheap. Arne.
