Any one know of any good winerack plans on the internet...Pretty good with wood so just wondering ..This would be for a wall in the basement ..which is 65 degrees all year round...Thank GOD for Cellars!!!

I found this one a while back and am thinking about giving it a try over the holidays. http://www.van-vliet.org/dempseywoodworking/winerack.shtml

This one appeals to me because I am going to have a lot of bottles of the same kind of wine now that I'm making my own. It probably wouldn't be a good design if you are looking to store many different bottles because you wouldn't be able to see the labels on the ones toward the bottom of each bin.

Here is the rack system I use. Very simple to make.

This is the first one Northern Wino had the link to. http://hometown.aol.ca/bperez/winerack/Wine_Rack_Plan.pdf

Thanks NW, saved me looking up the link. These can be made in just a few hours and can be expanded to suit your needs. Reminds me I need to make enough more to hold about 500 more bottles.

Waldo got me to put my photos in Photo Bucket and Upload them from there, that works great and avoids the frustrations I was having...now have to figure out a way to bypass the Forum's URL problem that I am having....

I'm going to custom fit one in a closet (bin type). Sure wish I had a basement!!

If your basement is not a family area

Arrghh! Basement not a family area. What basement. Unfortunately for those of us in the warmer climes, they just don't give us basements. Personally, I think it is because you must extend the footings of the house 12" below the frost line to prevent heaving. Here in the Memphis area, the frost line is maybe 1" down. That makes it too expensive to dig down 9' to put in basement space.

We don't have a frost line here. You dig down a few inches and you hit water. So in essence, if you dug a basement here it would basically be an indoor pool. I am from Illinois and always had a basement there. I sure do miss them.
