Hello all,

I've been making wine for a few years now & have decided its time to plant some vines. I have a large farm, plenty of room. I'm on a learn as I go plan & will be researching this forum. At this point I know nothing about growing grapes. But, I'm a nut when it comes to researching so, I'll be searching & researching for a while before doing anything.

A question I have as I'm starting is : are there sites to avoid or sites that some have had positive experience with purchasing & quality of vines?

Thanks! Brian

My thoughts at this point are to start with Merlot. I live in southern ohio & have read they have merlot vines that do well in my area.

I'm a big dry drinker so I can drink the merlot. But, most of my acquaintances are sweet wino's & I would be making blackberry / berry Merlots.

Thanks again,

Brian

Double A Vineyards and Northeastern Vine Supply are reliable and provide good healthy plants - especially for the cold-hardy hybrids. I have bought from Bevens Creek Vineyard in MN too. Excellent results.
