Looking to put together a testing lab on my bench. What are the essentials?
I've looked on line for actual kits but with no luck.
What do you have to test your wines..
Absolute requirements - pH meter, gram scale, solutions for SO2 testing, chromatography kit, acid test kit. Heck if you want, I understand you can test for Yan without much equipment, but I never have.
I'd say the Vinmetrica 300 with the pro kit, expensive but does the essentials, also graduated cylinders, flasks and syringes of different sizes for blending and test trials. In getting a scale make sure it's capable of measuring .01 grams if you make wines under 10 gallons or so. Not essential but convenient is an infrared thermometer. It really all depends on how involved you are in the hobby.
