I might have to try this. Once the vineyard is established it wii be fenced. A few runner ducks might be just the ticket for insect control.

I have chickens but they are more seed eaters and vegetarians. I’ve heard ducks are more insectivores.

I'm surprised chickens aren't better. Intersting story.

I've got leafminers, don't think the ducks will help.

A "300 year old wine maker"? Really? I wish I could live that long. Hmm.....

That should be a hint to wonder about the quality of journalism, and maybe the facts, if they make a title like that...

But, if you want insectivorous birds, especially those that do not need as much water like a duck, consider Guineafowl (they also eat seeds, but will pick off a tick from a blade a grass with much delight).
