Vacuum pump

I keep seeing the Schuco Vac 130 listed on EBay.Is this a common pump used for degassing and racking, or is there something else I should be looking for.I would like to keep it under $100

That model is a good one but make sure you get the 2 hoses and also a suction canister with it plus a small little disc or square fitting which is a hydrophobic filter right before the regulator. Here is a much better deal though and its complete! I would jump on this!!! Ive purchased from this guy many times as I used to buy and sell these pumps for wine makers like you but no more!

I have searched and searched for picture of a whole house filter setup! What type of filter do you use and what micron?

Barney, Richard, I, and many others use whole house filter set ups like the ones you would use to filter sediment out of your water system in your house. Here is a link to a place where you can get everything you need much cheaper then any box store and better stuff then the box store.

Now the only thing they dont have are the 1/4NPT to 3/8" barb but I found them at Ace Hardware. If you cant find them send me a pm as I have a bunch left from when I was selling these pump systems. You do ha pump right as gravity will not work with these.

Thanks Wade. That is the info I was looking for. The filter housing is now out of stock so I will have to wait to see when they get more. I don't have a vacuum pump yet but I will purchase one from the site you posted previously. (Ebay)

I dont have a pic of mine in use! Im usually very busy when I do do some wine work. I will next time though.
