Do any of you have a formula to use in making so2 additions?
I use the powdered Kmeta and I generally add 1/4 tsp. kmeta when I crush my grapes. As I understand it, this is roughly 50 ppm. After Mlf is complete I'll add more (up to 50 ppm.).
A freind gave me a formula for this and I'd like to know how accurate it is.
NUMBER OF LITERS WINE X PPM SO2 X .001754 = KMETA IN GRAMS
for 5 gallons: 19(liters) x 50 (ppm) x .001754 = 1.6663 grams kmeta
Are there any other formulas out there?
