35 years ago after marrying a California woman with two young children who had never been outside of CA we went to KY for a family reunion. While watching the evening news there was a story about an abandoned house that was overgrown with weeds and trash. They interviewed the complaining neighbor and one of the things she said was “…place is prolly et up spiders and snakes”. Those kids are grown up and on their own and I still hear about that.
