I have heard that some companies add a pack of 'mist booster' to these kits to make the alcohol higher. I was wondering what else you could add to them instead of this product.

sugar. Read nearly any thread on mist kits, somebody will have mentioned boosting the alcohol.

I would guess that mist booster is simply sugar, unless it's liquid invert sugar.

Make a simple syrup with 2 parts sugar to one part of water heated on the stove till dissolved. Stir in real good and keep checking your sg until you get to where you want to be.
