I went ahead and tried to make watermelon wine from the over-ripe watermelons. It never did smell good, like the first watermelon wine I made using Steve's procedure--strawberries and rasins---that wine turned out good. This wine always had a kinda stale or rotten smell, not much but enuf that you noticed it. It went down the drain today, better safe than sorry.
I confess, I went against what I was told (use only good fruit that you would enjoy eating) another lesson learned the hard way, but that's the story of my life. Some say I'm hard headed, but don't believe em.
