YES YOU CAN MAKE A RANBOW---EASY!
Just go out to your yard and get the garden hose. Put your thumb over the nozzle of it and create a fine mist. make sure the sun is shinning at your back. spray the mist high enough and "presto" you have a rainbow with all the colors! your kids will love it! actually....you too!
Why? How?
Rainbows are made of mist particles that are spherical in shape. So when you create that mist and create the spherical mist shape, the light from the sun enters one end of the particle, but as it leaves the front, it disperses through this spherical shape which acts like a prism. Sunlight is broken down into individual wavelengths or color. What you see in that tiny spherical mist particle is a rainbow! You multiple that by thousands and millions of mist particles and what you have is a huge rainbow any time you want if the sun is out or you can wait after the rain has stopped.
