Rookie wine maker here on just my second kit. Bottled the trinity red a couple months ago. Opened a bottle the other day and I think it turned out pretty good but I will wait a few months before opening more. Anyways I started bottling the Mezza Luna kit today. Last Sunday all was going well and poured a glass to check clarity and it was just a little cloudy so we decided to give it another week. I filled the first bottle today and freaked out as it is really cloudy. Poured it back in the carboy. Help! Any ideas?

How long has it been clearing? Maybe give it another week or 2. As long as the wine is in a carboy and topped up with very little head space, you can give it the time it needs. Could be excess CO2 preventing it from clearing. Have you degassed? Maybe needs more.

Thanks for the reply and great advice. Gave it another week and it cleared up fine.
