So this is the first kit I made of this type making the exotic zin and was wondering how much sugar I can add and not mess up the kit? The kit says ABV is 7% as is. Can I add sugar to make it like 11 or 12?

I bump the sg to 1.085 on my raspberry peach Sangria :d:d

I got mine to 1.070 tonight with 3 lbs of sugar. That's pretty much what I was shooting for. My wife said it smelled delicious, so we're off to a good start.

what did you folks think of the raspberry peach sangria.

HI all,
Well, I am leaning toward the apricot peach rather than the Raspberry Sangria.
I did the Dragon fruit, raspberry Syrah and at first, some of my friends were not very impressed but after a little over a month and the flavors showed up.
I wish they would bring back the Amazon Cornnucopia as the peach chardonnay was a knockout but ol' well

Jumping ship to the Orchard breezin Acai Rapture really was liked by all people who like sweet wine. I bumped up the ABV to 12% and it quite good.

My second watermelon white Merlot is almost gone. All my sweet wine folks love it. I have 5 lbs of sugar in it. Still seams funny, the more sugar the less sweet :) For my next batch I'm between a kiwi/ pear or a strawberry/ watermelon. Has anyone made either and what did you think?

Hi all, Corinth here!:u:u:u
Just wondering if anybody interested in creating a top ten island mist entries.
No real work on your part other than for you to type in your favorites.
My only real entries I omit would be to exclude those who are ready to make one but have not yet (such as myself).

This is not going to be statistically rigid as I cannot omit creative inputs. Just for fun.Any additional ideas that would include the summer breezin entries would try to be added.

Anybody think this might be a fun idea, especially since I will be doing all the work.

Watermelon white merlot, I have made 2 the and one on deck. Next I would say the peach Chardonnay .

So far the kiwi pear is my favorite. Although I've never made it but I have tasted it, the peach apricot is probably a close second

JimmyT, good to know about the kiwi pear, I'll be starting that kit next!

Well, just bottled this cheapo kit, Island Mist Peach Apricot Chardonnay. Had a sip and I'm very surprised....:b
Very good.

I started it on May 13, barely a month ago.
Added 2 cans of Welch's white grape concentrate, simple syrup plus some golden raisins in primary.
Initial SG=1.090 and ended at 0.992

Will try full glass later on...

Here it is, bottled. I think this cheapo kit will be a hit this summer.. [emoji3]ImageUploadedByWine Making1434129825.539650.jpg

Island Mist; Pomegranate Zin, Cranberry Pinot, and Blackberry Cabernet. All very good IMO.
